Testimonials

picMy sincere belief is that if one has never been a victim of a crime, that person will never know the importance of SCVAN.  My mother was a victim of homicide fifteen years ago.  SCVAN was unknown to me, but I soon discovered this staff to be an invaluable source of support, an information resource, and a voice to intervene when a lone victim may NOT be heard.

I cannot thank you enough for your compassionate and professional assistance.  The sudden crisis that hit our daughter was a barrage from so many angles.  You truly helped us deal with some of this and we feel that we know where to call if we need further direction.

Dear Veronica and SCVAN,

I wanted to take a minute to thank you for all of your support and encouragement though out the years. In 2002 my husband who was an deputy with Beaufort County Sheriff office, was killed in the line of duty during a domestic violence call. The following year we had the murder trial. I felt so lost, confused and most of all alone going through the process, until I contacted SCVAN. My first contact was with Veronica Swain, she and everyone with SCVAN, started my journey from victim to survivor. During the long process of going through the system, SCVAN educated me with their annual victims right conference and personal contact. Any question that I had would be answered in detail.
SCVAN is not only my support network, they are now my mentors. I am proud to say that I am now an victim advocate for the Hamilton Municipal Court inOhio. I mainly work with domestic violence. My wish is I could make an impact on a victims life, like SCVAN did for me.

Love and Thanks,

DJ Coursen, Survivor

You all just don't know how much of a difference you make in the lives of victims. No matter how many times you may be thanked for it, it will never be enough.
