Transportation

The Emergency Fund pays for victims to flee away from an offender.

Will the fund pay for transportation to/from court visits?

No. The Emergency Fund does not cover expenses for  transportation to/from court visits.

My victim has a car and would like to relocate to another state away from the offender, will the Emergency Fund pay for gas?

Yes. The Emergency Fund will pay for gas for a victim to relocate. You will need to get the total mileage of the trip and submit to Program Manager. The Program Manager will give the advocate an approved amount for gas. We  can not provide "up front" funds therefore a third party will need to provide the funds for the victim. We will reimburse the third party ONLY with gas receipts.

Will the fund pay for a plane or train ticket?

Our general method of transportation is a bus. However, there are occasions that bus travel isn't feasible. This will be considered a special request and will be submitted to the Emergency Victim Assistance Committee and grant administrator for approval.
