Here are some General questions that we have received in regards to the Victims’ rights week conference…
What is the difference between “hybrid” and “all virtual” registration types?
VIRTUAL ONLY REGISTRANTS: You will use the Virtual Attendee Hub throughout the entire conference (May 5th-13th). Even though May 11th-13th are in-person days, we will live-stream the available workshops.
HYBRID REGISTRANTS: You will use the VAH for virtual days (May 5th, 6th, 9th and 10th). You will then be given instructions at registration for accessing information during hybrid days while at the conference hotel (May 11th-13th). The hybrid registration includes events and workshops that will be held in-person (May 11-13, 2022) at the Doubletree by Hilton Hotel in Columbia, South Carolina. The in-person conference days are indicated as “hybrid” on the schedule. You will also have access to view the webinars on the virtual days as well.
I have to provide an invoice for payment for my registration fee, who do I need to contact?
You should have received a link in your registration confirmation email that directs you to your invoice. If you are unable to access it, please email shannon@scvan.org and/or nicole@scvan.org for assistance.
I registered for the hybrid schedule and need to make hotel accommodations, which days should I reserve my hotel room for?
Since the only in-person conference days are Wednesday, May 11, 2022 - Friday, May 13, 2022, you may reserve a room for Tuesday, Wednesday and/or Thursday, depending on when you arrive and depart. Room rates are good for all three nights.
Can I switch my registration type?
If you signed up for virtual only, but wish to change to the hybrid schedule, you may do so until the end of business day on April 22, 2022. Please contact Shannon Geary (shannon@scvan.org) or Nicole Goodwin (nicole@scvan.org).
How do I access the webinars I want to attend?
We use the Virtual Attendee Hub for the conference.
I am a new victim service provider in South Carolina and need to obtain a VSP #, who do I contact?
You will need to contact the SC Attorney General’s Office, Department of Crime Victim Services Training, Provider Certification and Statistical Analysis.
If I miss a webinar, will I be able to obtain a recording?
You will be able to obtain a recording to view after the original webinar has taken place.
If I miss a webinar, will I be able to do a makeup session to obtain VSP credit?
Only webinar labeled “BASIC CORE” will be eligible for makeup sessions.
I have a new advocate that needs the 15-hour basic core requirement, can they get those core requirements from attending virtually or do they need to attend the hybrid registration option?
New advocates who need the initial 15 hours of basic core training will be able to receive certification by attending either the all-virtual or hybrid option.
