Scholarship Conference Information
CONFERENCE DATES AND LOCATION
March 11-13, 2026
Doubletree by Hilton Hotel, 2100 Bush River Road Columbia, SC 29210
CONFERENCE REGISTRATION
Please report to the Conference Registration Table on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, between 8:00 AM and 9:00 AM. The location is marked as PREFUNCTION (red dot) on the hotel map.

MEALS
Only registered scholarship participants will be allowed to eat the meals provided.
Conference name tags must be worn at all times.
Breakfast will be provided on Thursday and Friday morning.
Lunch will be provided on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.
Dinner will be provided on Wednesday and Thursday.
LODGING
If your scholarship includes lodging, accommodations will be made at the conference hotel by SC Victim Assistance Network (SCVAN) Staff.
TRANSPORTATION
You are responsible for your transportation to and from the conference.
WORKSHOPS
As a scholarship recipient, you will attend workshops in a track tailored for you. You will attend events and meals with all conference attendees, including victim service providers and criminal justice professionals.
SPECIAL EVENTS
Thursday evening, March 12, 2026, 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm
Join us in the hotel’s grand ballroom for food, music, etc. The silent action will end during this event.
THEME DAYS (OPTIONAL)
Wednesday – Team Spirit Day: Show your team pride!
Thursday – Conference Colors Day: Wear red, navy, or blue, or your conference t-shirt
Thursday Evening – “Under the Stars” Party. This evening offers a quiet moment to rest, reflect, and recharge in a soothing atmosphere. Attendees are encouraged to wear comfy, appropriate pajamas as part of this relaxing experience.
Friday – Law Enforcement Appreciation Day: Wear blue or law enforcement–related apparel as we recognize and thank our law enforcement partners.

This conference is a space for healing, learning, and connection. We are committed to maintaining a respectful, trauma-informed environment for all participants. To help create a safe experience for everyone, we ask attendees to:
Be mindful that individuals may have different trauma experiences and emotional responses.
Respect personal boundaries, including physical space and privacy.
Honor confidentiality. Personal stories shared at this conference should not be discussed outside of this event without permission.
The following behavior will not be tolerated:
Harassment, discrimination, or intimidation of any kind.
Inappropriate physical contact.
Disruptive behavior that interferes with workshops or events.
Recording or photographing participants without their consent.
If you feel overwhelmed at any time, please step away and ask for assistance. A quiet space and support staff are available.
CHAPLAINS CARE AND PAWS 4 CARE WILL BE ONSITE
On-site chaplains, trained support personnel, and certified support animals are available to provide additional care and comfort as needed.
OTHER TIPS
If you tend to get cold, bring a light jacket/sweater because workshop rooms can be chilly at times.
It’s always good to have a few snacks in your bag just in case.
