About the Conference
The South Carolina Victims' Rights Week (VRW) Conference is an annual gathering that brings together crime victims, survivors, surviving family members, and professionals who serve victims of crime.
The conference provides a welcoming and supportive environment where survivors can connect with others who have shared similar experiences, learn from knowledgeable presenters, and participate in workshops focused on healing, grief, stress, resilience, and personal growth.
One of the most meaningful events is the Unity Ceremony, which provides an opportunity for participants to honor and remember loved ones lost to violent crime.
As we celebrate our 40th anniversary, we look forward to honoring the past, recognizing the progress made in victims' rights, and continuing to build a supportive community for survivors across South Carolina.
Survivor Scholarship Eligibility
Survivor scholarships are available to eligible individuals interested in attending the 2027 conference.
To apply, you must meet both of the following requirements:
Be 18 years of age or older.
Have experienced victimization in the state of South Carolina.
Please Note: The conference is an adult-only event. Children under the age of 18 are not permitted to attend.
What Does the Scholarship Cover?
Approved survivor scholarships include:
Conference Registration: Full registration for the in-person 40th Annual South Carolina Victims' Rights Week Conference, March 10–12, 2027.
40th Anniversary Gala: Admission to the Gala on Thursday, March 11, 2027, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. This is a formal event.
Lodging (if applicable): Hotel accommodations for approved applicants who qualify for lodging assistance.
Meals: Meals provided as part of the conference.
Scholarship benefits and lodging arrangements will be communicated to approved applicants.

Submission of a scholarship application does not guarantee approval. Scholarships are subject to eligibility requirements and available funding.
Timely communication is essential throughout the scholarship application and confirmation process. Applicants must respond promptly to requests for information and scholarship-related communications.
Failure to respond within requested timeframes may result in the scholarship being offered to another applicant.

Individual Scholarship Application
Select this application if you are applying to attend the conference as an individual.
Family/Group Scholarship Application
Select this application if you plan to attend the conference with family members or others in your party.
To help SCVAN provide lodging assistance to as many survivors as possible, family and group members attending together are encouraged to share a hotel room whenever possible.
One person should complete the application as the Primary Applicant and may include up to three additional family or group members who will be attending with them.
